I’ve been working on a lot of stuff for the wedding…May 23 is fast approaching. *dies a little* And…hey, guess what, graduate student stipends don’t allow much wiggle room for wedding budgets. Sooo…it’s all kinds of DIY.
Here’s what you need:
- 8oz Paint Jar (I used Valspar because it was already ready to go at Lowes)
- 1-2 Tbsp Tile Grout (Unsanded)
- Wood squares (I got a sheet of thin wood of unknown origin at Lowes and had them cut it in to quarters for me.)
- String of some sort (I used jute cord)
So once you have your pieces of wood of the appropriate size, go ahead and drill holes for your string. Double check that your drill bit is around the same size as the string you plan to use.
Or in my case…have a helpful friend drill holes for you. Depending on how picky you are, you can measure and level the holes…for me, these will just be hung in a tree and won’t stay level anyway…so wherever the holes landed was fine. (Look, not being a perfectionist, YAY!)
Next we painted the boards in their respective colors, added the string, let them dry and then…
Ta-Da!!! Really simple and cheap project for weddings!!
